Reservation Dogs co-creator Sterlin Harjo is developing a new FX miniseries with a Native female lead, according to Variety. Plot details have not yet been released, but the show will reportedly be a heist-thriller miniseries.
Reservation Dogs was notable for exclusively featuring Indigenous writers and directors--along with an almost entirely Indigenous North American cast and production team. Reservation Dogs was renewed for Season 2 back in September, and recently won a Gotham Film Award for Breakthrough Series. Harjo co-created the series with Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit).
«As longtime friends, it was only natural that Taika and I found a project together, and what better than a show that celebrates the complementary storytelling styles of our Indigenous communities--mine in Oklahoma and Taika"s in Aotearoa,» said Harjo, when Reservation Dogs was announced in 2020. «We"re thrilled by the opportunity to tell the Reservation Dogs» story with our amazing cast and crew."
